Your Dreams Are Possible According To 21 Year Old Entrepreneur

By Laura Duncanson

Do you remember what you were doing when you were 21 years old (dreams are possible)? A few of you were probably in college studying while others were partying as much as they could due to their new sense of being legal.?  Not many of us at that age knew what we wanted to do with life, it was something that we would deal with when we got older, but this is exactly the opposite mentality of our interviewee Darron Hilaire.  Darron is a 21-year-old activist and entrepreneur from the Turks and Caicos Islands who has a heart for youth and social development. At 21 he has already successfully started a television series, spearheaded an annual activist movement as well as single handedly changed how this small country sees journalism.

Dreams Are PossibleDarron Hilaire is a growing entrepreneur, former journalist, former youth parliamentarian and writer from the beautiful country of Turks and Caicos Islands. He was one of the few male anchors, sports reporter and also owns his own production and events company Hilaire studios. Currently, he’s the marketing and communications executive for a local telecommunication company known as Lime and in his spare time likes to read and inspire others. The Good News Notebook Magazine (GNN) asked what the biggest obstacle was he has had to face so far, he said self-imposed restrictions and self-defeating thoughts which he counters with reassurance and his faith in God.

Despite his humbling beginnings, growing up fatherless, enduring abuse and depression, Darron still finds himself reaching out and passionate about being a change in his community. He is looked upon as an inspirational individual in the community already as people are starting to see him for what he stands for and flock to hear his wise words and input. When asked about his future in politics he says he sees himself more as an activist, a bridging gap between the people and the government just ensuring things get done. His annual event Manpower TCI, which is targeted towards getting the community together to work on the alleviation in crime and cause a change in the mentality of the country, is just one of the few things he’s doing in the community. He also hosts his own weekly series Awakening Possibilities which main purpose is to tell the stories of successful individuals in life, marriage and business as a means of encouraging others. Both of these are fruits of his business Hiliare Studios. In the future he hopes to see himself and his business being taken to the Caribbean region and international.
GNN asked who inspired him the most, he listed 5 influential individuals Superintendent Kendall Grant, former Director of Youth Angela Musgrove, well known comedian Steve Harvey, global activist Oprah Winfrey and last but no means least God. These individuals saw in him what no one else did, inspired him on what a man should be when he lacked the necessary role model in the home, taught him about life as well as following your dreams. Out of these he said he’d like to meet Steve Harvey the most as he has so much to ask.

His advice for our readers about following their dreams is simple yet profound at the same time: your dreams are possible. He further went on to say,” until we believe our dreams are possible, we won’t be able to access or invest in them“.
